29th July 1957: Sam leaps into Leonard Dancey, a defence lawyer in a small Louisiana town whose client, Lila Berry, is accused of murdering the son of the most powerful man in the area, Captain Carter. Lila claims that she committed the crime, but Sam’s gut-reaction is that she is innocent, and he gives a plea of not guilty. However, Al informs Sam that his decision will lead to Lila’s execution at the electric chair, rather than the twenty years in prison that a plea of guilty would have ensured. But Sam thinks that Lila and the townsfolk are hiding something, and he is determined to uncover the truth behind their conspiracy of silence…
